Squad Ties
Squad Ties AKA Marce Dmode and Melo, met as school friends at the age of 11. Both had a love for UK Garage and honed the skills as MC’s In the Playground. At the age of 16 they went on to form the 00’s collection by the name of the Blazin’ Squad.Releasing 2 Studio albums and 7 top ten singles including the UK number 1 ‘Crossroads’. Over the years during and after the squad, Marce and Melo bonded and became like brothers and the musical chemistry was clear to see. As the other members of the squad went into other genres and industries the duo continued to make music. Marce developed his production skills working with producers such as Naughty Boy and Mojam Music and Melo perfected his lyrics. Even though the squad has been disbanded for many years, the boys still hold those Ties close to the heart as these are the foundations of where their brotherhood was birthed. It’s 2020 and the duo have decided to start a new project. ‘Squad Ties’ is a fitting name to commemorate the musical past they both share, while at the same time opening the door to a new chapter in music. The boys have been ACTIVE behind the scenes creating a body of music that is set to take 2020 by storm Their first release ‘No Juice’ is a wavey introduction to the pair. Filled with metaphors and punch lines and accompanied exquisitely with a beat that will have you 2 stepping and bopping in no time.
